Cairo to Aswan

Day 01 : Arrive to Cairo (B)
Welcome to the beginning of your adventure in Egypt.
You will have one of our Egypt representative greet you at the airport once you are finished with customs and have collected your baggage.  Following transfer to your hotel you will have some time to relax over a welcome drink.
Overnight in Cairo hotel.

Day 02 : Cairo & Giza Tour (B)
The day will begin with a trip to the ancient capital city Memphis.  Founded around 3100 BC, Memphis has now been transformed into an open air museum for your viewing pleasure. Afterwards, we’ll make the short trip to see Saqqara. This ancient burial ground served as the necropolis for Memphis.  Later you will be taken to the most famous wonderland in the world, The Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. The largest of the three, The Great Pyramid of Khufu, is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one to remain largely intact. 
This evening you will catch the overnight train to Aswan

Day 03 : Aswan (B)
A Scarab Egypt Representative will greet you at the train station upon arrival for transfer and check-in to the hotel. To begin you will be taken to visit the temple of Philae, a superb temple complex dedicated to the goddess Isis and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterwards, you will visit the immense and very scenic High Dam.  Finally your day will be wrapped up with a visit to the Unfinished Obelisk. This abandoned work of art offers unusual insights into ancient Egyptian stone-working techniques, with marks from workers' tools still clearly visible as well as ocher-colored lines marking where they were working.

Aswan to Luxor

Day 04 : The Islands & Luxor (B)
This afternoon you will set sail aboard a felucca, a traditional wooden sailing boat which serves as the preferred method of transportation along the River Nile. Your course will be set to sail around the Kitchener and Elephantine Islands. Later in the afternoon you will catch the train to Luxor.  A Scarab Egypt Representative will greet you upon arrival for transfer to the hotel.

Day 05 : The East Bank of Luxor (B)
Welcome to the ancient Egyptian capital, previous known as Thebes.  Your day will begin with a visit to the Luxor temple. This Temple was built largely by Amenhotep III and Ramses II around 1400 BC.  Its main purpose was to celebrate the festival of Opet.  Later you will be taken to see the Karnak Temple. It is compromised of a vast collection of ruined temples, chapels, pylons, and other buildings, notably the Great Temple of Amen and a massive structure begun by Pharaoh Ramses II.  Afterwards you will be taken back to your hotel.

Luxor to Cairo

Day 06 : The West Bank of Luxor (B)
The west bank at Luxor is one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. You will start with a visit to the Valley of the Kings where, for a period of nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, tombs were constructed for the Pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom.  Afterwards you will make the short trip to the Valley of the Queens and next to Hatshepsut’s Temple, designed by the architect Senemut.  Finally you will be taken to see the Colossi of Memnon which was erected around 1350 BC.
This evening you will catch the overnight train to Cairo.

Day 07 : Cairo City Tour (B)
Upon arrival to Cairo you will find a Scarab Egypt Representative waiting to transfer you to the hotel for check-in.  This afternoon you will be taken to the Egyptian Museum which houses the world’s largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities, and many treasures of King Tutankhamen. Later, you will visit the Citadel - home to Egyptian rulers for nearly 700 years.  Afterwards, we explore many attractions in the old Coptic area including the Hanging Church and Ben Ezra Synagogue (the Jewish Temple).

Day 08 : Departure (B)
After breakfast and check-out you will be taken to the airport for your departure. Your tour is finished but we hope to see you again on your next adventure!
